Elstree and Borehamwood

Re modelling and extending the entire station building.
Firstly we had to demolish the old café and create an area for a temporary ticket office to keep the station operational.
50% of the external walls to the building were removed along with a complete internal strip out, leaving an open space for reconfiguration.
Extensions to the front and side elevations where we constructed piled foundations with reinforced beams and floors, during this process we unearthed and had to break through and remove some heavy foundations that were believed to be from the old rail sidings that existed there in the past.

Paving around the perimeter of the building was lifted and re laid to suit new levels and new service routes were installed.

The local film society on behalf of the BBC had a major input to the project, looking after and incorporating the heritage of the local film studios within the finishing touches.
